A.C.M.I International
Director, New Vice-President for I.M.A
September 2006
Bishop Henry Mulandi, African Christian
Mission International (ACMI) International Director has
been elected into the post of Vice President for International
Missions Association (IMA).
IMA is a Christian organization that exists
to encourage global missions. Today, the organization includes
the President, executive board, and fourteen members. It
was in the IMA meetings, and IMA organized conferences in
Philippines that Bishop Mulandi was elected Vice President
to support and work together with the IMA President, Richard
Showalter.
The
mission to Philippines, which commenced on 6th September
and ended on 13th September 2006, saw Bishop Mulandi and
Dr. Pastor Mbatia of Deliverance Church Thika join the rest
of IMA members in the IMA conference dubbed Holy Spirit
In Mission Conference, IMA meetings and visit to churches.
The purpose of the Philippines mission
was to bring together the leaders of IMA and churches involved
in missions’ activities, church planting, and training,
with the motive of encouraging each other, and to strategize
for global mission work. The Holy Spirit In Mission Conference
was held to highlight things that the Holy Spirit is doing
in missions, “We had a few ideas written down, but
God took us beyond those ideas. He influenced us in a serious
way,” Bishop reports.
One of the ideas birthed in the IMA missions
was extending beyond just working as an association to collaborating
together in missions’ activities. ACMI has been invited
to preach in the Philippines Police Academy with over ten
thousand students in sixteen constituency colleges. All
those in the police force would give time to ACMI to teach
and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the students, “this
is an avenue for ACMI, CCI & CCIT to collaborate together
to make a mission like this happen in 2007,” Bishop
believes.
