PHILIPPINES MISSION – NOVEMBER 2007

Please Note that this mission has been postponed until further notice.

Background Information
Philippines comprises of a series of islands in the Far East off the coast of China to the North of Indonesia and South of Japan. It lies between the Equator and the Tropic of Cancer and therefore has a Tropical climatic condition. Its population is estimated at 80million people a majority of whom are Roman Catholics.

There are 16 constituent Police Academies offering training to Chief Inspectors, Investigators and regular Police Officers. They offer degree, diploma and certificate courses. There is a Chaplain in each college who reports to the Bishop in charge.

The Bishop has extended an invitation to ACMI to preach in theses colleges and also to disciple future leaders who will continue with the noble task of bringing up the new converts to spiritual maturity.

The mission is supposed to spread out to all the 16colleges simultaneously and therefore anyone who signs in will be actively involved. This is a great opportunity for you to exercise your spiritual gift.

Our task
The main objective of the mission is to train the cadets on character development. Materials will be provided and training sessions have been organized for those who qualify to go. Preaching sessions have also been provided for as per the program.

Requirements
Those interested will be required to raise their own air tickets amounting to Kshs. 80,000/-. All the other expenses will be met by the Philippine host.

There are no visas required and all that one is required to have is the air ticket and a valid passport. It is however necessary to have some inoculations which can be obtained from the Municipal office or the Government District Hospitals.

A Life Time Opportunity: Are you interested? Do you have a burden for the lost? Can you spare some time for God and His work? “The fields are white and the harvest is waiting.” Do you consider yourself a worker? Call us on 067-30621 or come to the ACMI offices at Christian Church International – Thika Makongeni.

A rare opportunity
This is a rare opportunity where a government offers the church to be involved in training one of the most important departments of its country.

What else should I know?
The Filipinos are very friendly and very accommodating. They are also very religious with most being Catholics of from the same background. The country’s religion is predominantly Catholic. Many do not understand salvation by grace but instead they lean more towards salvation through works.

Those that have had opportunities to plant churches in Philippines have faced some opposition from this spirit of religion. Sometimes a whole village has converted to salvation only to go back to their former religious ways of life after receiving threats from the religious leaders that they will be denied some rights if they do not recant.

The only way to get them out of this situation is through discipleship and effective follow-up. Training local people of integrity will help us accomplish this noble task. May God bless you as you prepare to join this mission of the year!

Support and partnership
Those who cannot make it to the mission also have an opportunity to partner with us in prayers and financial support. You can support a willing missionary to raise the required air ticket and in so doing share in the blessing of seeing souls coming to Christ and a whole nation revolutionized.

Channel all your love gifts through the ACMI office.

Please Note: All interested participants are strictly required to pass through the ACMI office for clearance before starting to raise any funds. No one is allowed to raise any money for this mission until they are cleared by the ACMI office.
