WATER FOR TING'ANG'A VILLAGE

25th June 2007

What a weekend it was! It is Monday morning and I can hardly sit well on my desk. I am excited! You see I have been seeing this dream for several years, sometimes a vision, sometimes a dream. It has all come true this last weekend. Our drilling Team had left here on Thursday and went 80km (50miles) to a village called Tinganga. I do not know yet the population of this Village, but after drilling the whole day they where able to strike water at 120 meters. And a lot of water! The villagers had been going to draw water about 14km away (9.5miles) one way. How much water can you carry on your back for that distance? Not much. Many of the villagers stayed there for the whole time our crew were drilling. Stephen Mutune and I joined them on Saturday with some government leaders to see the whole exercise. They happened to be flushing the well on Saturday. We stayed up late. They where shutting the machines at about 10.30pm. At this time the villagers were still standing by. One thing I could see on their faces was joy and disbelief. After all these many years of struggling daily to go for such a long distance to draw water, water is here now!

During the day a young man from the life changers called Eugene was doing the rounds in leading people to the Lord. Saturday alone he had prayed for six people to receive Jesus. There was a man there who the villagers said had never been to church since 1976. Seeing the great works of God he said that immediately we start a church he will be the first convert! One of the things that moved this man was the fact that he had never seen Christians or say a church being involved in providing water for people. This was enough to convince him that what we preach is real. After spending time with the village elders, they shared their needs with us. After water they asked us to help them establish a secondary school for their children and a Vocational training school. Many of their children never go beyond grade 8. A Vocational Training school with Carpentry tools for boys and Tailoring machines for the girls would do them good. They showed us the land they will donate to us for these two schools and showed us also a place to build a church. I don't think I was prepared for all this. But here it is. This is what I have always dreamed about. A project that will transform villages for the Kingdom of God! From water to church and education, what more can you ask for? I did note that we need a DVD projector very urgently. We can screen films every night, like "The Jesus Film" and others. This was a great breakthrough. To God be all the glory.

I must give credit to Ron Weaver. I doubt we could have serviced the drill machines to the point that it is now. Ron did a lot of work with The Boys to put it to where it can be used. God knew that we needed a Ron to set the equipment to work. I thank God for Ron. He worked very tirelessly during his time here. I am seeing ourselves being in very high demand that two machines will not even be sufficient. Our Life Changers team was in a school called Trikha High school in Thika for a weekend of meetings. They have just reported that 40 girls and one young man have given their lives to Christ! Many were prayed for deliverance and others where filled with the Holy Spirit. More invitations were extended to them after what God did in this school. You see I have a reason to rejoice! But above all things that our names are written in the lambs book of life.
Brethren continue to pray for us.
