Nuba Mountains

A team of missionaries were sent by ACMI to Nuba Mountains, Sudan, to plant a church and train the believers. The team reaches out through home evangelism and offering leadership training courses to pastors and church leaders. In the past few months over 100 people have been won to the Lord in Nuba Mountains.

Call For Prayer...

We invite you to pray with us for one of this Mission base, I.e Nuba Mountains-Southern Sudan. The ACMI base there sits in  Kauda town, Where the two missionaries Tony and Yohana operate from, in a state known as Southern Kordofan, whose capital known as Kadugli town. The state has become a "ghost town" as referred to by the Sudan Tribune after it came under heavy bombing.

War broke out late last year in November and has persisted up to now, following threats by the Northern Sudan government to marginalise (or retain in their territory) the Blue Nile state, Southern Kordofan State (Nuba Mts), Darfur and Abyei.
From  1st June, the war zone came  to Nuba Mts. With bombings from the Northern side, using planes, their target being the Southern Sudan forces, UN, NGOs and the civilians in the area. Consequently, the NGOs pulled out of the area and their staff evacuated, in a state of emergency.

The Kauda Airstrip, was bombed, so that flights are inaccessible. There is no communication possible in the area except via satellite phone within the area and not to the outside world. However, it is feared that the people have gone into hiding probably in the caves they hid before in the previous war, with little or no food and water. The whereabouts of the ACMI Base staff, Yohana and his family have been established. We thank God! He confirms that people are hing in caves and they are  hungry and desperate. He also says thosands of people have been killed and Christians are being targeted. Some of the large Episcopal Cathedrals have been burnt down. Yohanna asks for our prayers for them.

We therefore ask that you would join in prayer for them, the entire Southern Sudan and indeed the whole Sudan for Peace, and the safe Keeping of the Lord. Let us also pray that a lasting solution should be found for this country and its people. On a sad note, let us also pray for the family of Rev. Musa Ereibat who worked closely with our missionaries and who was reported dead by the Sudan Tribune, among dozens of others. The Lord grant them comfort and safety and security. May He keep and protect them for only He can.
